US Strikes Three Iranian Oil Tankers in Escalating Regional Conflict
The United States has carried out strikes on three Iranian oil tankers in response to an earlier attack by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on two U.S. Navy ships.
U.S. Central Command said the strikes were carried out after the IRGC launched ballistic missiles at the U.S. vessels, and that no American personnel were harmed in the exchange.
Adm. Brad Cooper, head of U.S. Central Command, stated, 'Let the message to the IRGC be clear: If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost, taking out three of yours.'
