The US military has confirmed that it struck and disabled three Iranian oil tankers in response to ballistic missile attacks launched by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) towards two US Navy warships.

No American personnel were injured during the attacks, according to a statement from the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

The targeted vessels included the M/T Downy off the coast of Kharg Island and the M/T Stark 1 near Jask. The unladen tanker M/T Kylo, also known as the 'Noxen,' was destroyed in the Gulf of Oman after its crew abandoned ship.

CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper stated that the vessels were part of a 'multibillion-dollar shadow network' allegedly used to finance the IRGC and its regional proxies. He emphasized that the US will not hesitate to defend its forces and may destroy Iran's limited and exposed oil fleet if necessary.
