US Takes Out Three Iranian Oil Tankers in Retaliatory Strike
The US military has taken action against three Iranian oil tankers in response to ballistic missile attacks on two of its warships. The US Central Command (Centcom) said it had disabled a tanker near Kharg Island and another near the Strait of Hormuz, while completely destroying a third in the Gulf of Oman.
No American troops were harmed during the attack, according to Centcom. Iranian state media reported that one of its oil tankers was struck by US missiles off the coast of Kharg Island.
Admiral Brad Cooper, Centcom's commander, warned that the US will not hesitate to defend its forces and destroy Iran's limited and exposed oil fleet if necessary.
