The United States has announced a new sanctions campaign against Iran and its enablers, dubbed Operation Economic Outcast. The plan aims to cut off Iran's global revenue sources, including oil, by pressuring international actors.

Scott Bessent, the head of the U.S. economic warfare operation, framed the effort as 'economic D-Day,' and said it will not end until the Iranian regime stands alone.

The sanctions campaign includes expanding secondary sanctions categories and introducing new restrictions across sectors such as digital assets, gold, aviation, technology, and shipping.

Bessent warned that any entity facilitating money laundering on behalf of Iran 'will be removed from the U.S. dollar system.'

Iran's security chief Mohsen Rezaei threatened a 'seismic' retaliation against the sanctions, warning Gulf states that countries partnering in the restrictions will be considered enemies and targets for Iran.
