US Weighs Renewed Bombing Campaign as Tensions Escalate in Middle East
The US is considering a renewed bombing campaign in the Middle East, with President Trump stating that Iran has two options: sign a deal or face consequences. This comes after leaders from Saudi Arabia and Qatar lobbied against a potential attack on Iranian energy infrastructure, citing concerns about retaliation.
In response to these pleas, the US sent additional Patriot missile defense systems to protect key oil and natural gas facilities in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. These batteries were transferred from other regional commands, raising concerns about readiness elsewhere in the world.
The US military is also deploying more warships, fighter jets, and troops to the Middle East ahead of a possible resumption of hostilities. The USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier and its strike group left San Diego on Sunday, expected to arrive in the region by mid-November.
