USDA Cuts Corn Yield Estimates in Latest WASDE Report
The USDA released its September WASDE report on corn and soybean production, which lowered U.S. corn yield estimates for 2026.
According to the report, the projected average corn yield is now at 178.5 bushels per acre, down from 180.7 in August.
This decrease has led to a total estimated U.S. corn production level of 15.8 billion bushels for 2026, which would be a 7.2% drop from the record 2025 production level of just over 17 billion bushels.
