USDA Reports Record-High Corn Inventories at Start of New Marketing Year
The U.S. corn inventories have entered the new marketing year in a strong position, increasing by 35% from last year's numbers.
The USDA reported that old-crop corn stocks totaled 2.10 billion bushels as of September 1, with about 787 million bushels stored on farms and an additional 1.31 billion bushels stored off-farm.
This significant increase in supply could put downward pressure on prices for farmers as they navigate the fall harvest season.
