Venture Global and ConocoPhillips ink 20-year LNG supply deal
Venture Global, Inc. (NYSE: VG) and ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP) have secured a 20-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for liquefied natural gas (LNG). Under the deal, ConocoPhillips will buy 1.0 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG from Venture Global, starting in 2030. The agreement solidifies long-term access to U.S. LNG for ConocoPhillips as it expands its global portfolio.
Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global, expressed pride in partnering with ConocoPhillips, highlighting the deal as a vote of confidence in Venture Global’s ability to deliver reliable, low-cost U.S. LNG. The agreement aligns with Venture Global’s plans to expand its production capacity, reinforcing its position as a leading LNG exporter in the United States.
Venture Global operates across the LNG value chain, including production, transportation, shipping, and regasification. Its first three projects, Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG, and CP2 LNG, are based in Louisiana and include carbon capture initiatives. The deal with ConocoPhillips strengthens Venture Global’s customer base and supports U.S. LNG’s growing role in international markets.
The 20-year agreement provides long-term supply visibility through 2050, reflecting a strategic partnership between the two companies. As U.S. LNG exports continue to rise, such long-term contracts are crucial for securing future volumes and investing in infrastructure.
