Vermont Gas Prices Surge Above National Average

Vermonters are paying more for gas than the national average, with prices rising across the state in recent weeks.

According to data from last month, Vermont's average price for a gallon of regular gas was $4.02, but that number has increased to over $4.20 per gallon today.

The American Automobile Association (AAA) attributes this increase to higher demand due to summer travel and rising crude oil prices.

However, the AAA also warns that tensions around the Strait of Hormuz could continue to affect gas prices, leading to further fluctuations.
