Vietnam Gold Prices Surge Amid Global Stability
On August 3, 2026, gold prices in Vietnam saw simultaneous increases across multiple markets. The SJC Company increased its buying price by half a million VND, to 137.5 million VND/ounce, while maintaining its selling price at 141 million VND/ounce. This move narrowed the buy-sell spread at SJC to 3.5 million VND/ounce.
Other brands, including Bao Tin Minh Chau, DOJI, Phu Quy, and PNJ Hanoi, all increased their prices by 500,000 VND/ounce, resulting in a buying price of 137.5 million VND/ounce and selling price of 141.5 million VND/ounce.
Mi Hong continued to demonstrate caution, adding only 200,000 VND to both its buying and selling prices. The brand's gold bars were bought at 138.2 million VND/ounce and sold at 140.0 million VND/ounce.
World gold prices remained stable above $4,000/ounce, with a spot price of $4,028.0 per ounce on August 3, 2026. According to Giovanni Staunovo of UBS, the market is returning to its old pattern: gold typically rises when oil prices fall and vice versa.
