Waha Oil Targets 42k BPD Production Boost by 2026
Waha Oil is aiming to boost its oil production by an additional 42,000 barrels per day (BPD) in 2026 through a combination of development drilling and maintenance of closed wells. This target was revealed during a two-day meeting at the National Oil Corporation's (NOC) Tripoli headquarters on August 11th.
The meeting reviewed Waha Oil's technical and financial plans for 2025-27, with presentations covering various aspects such as safety and environment, reservoir engineering, drilling and maintenance programs, projects, technology, and financial affairs. The production increase plan showed stable production at 357 thousand BPD, with a target of adding 42 thousand BPD in 2026.
The NOC emphasized the importance of continuous coordination to address obstacles and accelerate projects to ensure sustainability and increased production. A program to drill 29 wells was also reviewed during the meeting, including 20 vertical, 5 horizontal, and 4 water-injection wells.
