The World Gold Council's CEO, David Tait, made some striking statements about Bitcoin at Consensus Miami. He expressed his personal opinion that Bitcoin is 'heading toward zero' and criticized its high correlation with risky assets.

Tait emphasized the importance of portfolio diversification, stating that gold and Bitcoin balance each other out during times of crisis. However, he also acknowledged that it might be logical for investors to hold both assets together as risk balancers in current market conditions.

The WGC CEO attributed the increases in gold prices to massive public debt rather than temporary factors such as wars, interest rates, or tariffs. He specifically highlighted the US debt burden, which has reached $39 trillion.
