West Texas Intermediate (WTI) Oil prices slid on Tuesday, dropping nearly 3% to around $82.00 per barrel as traders brushed off US sanctions on Iran.

The US Treasury's 'Operation Economic Outcast' aimed at cutting financial support for the Iranian government was seen as less aggressive than expected, with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent not identifying countries that could face penalties or providing a timeline.

Analysts at Danske Bank noted that the sanctions push against Iran has so far fallen short of a decisive break, leaving the immediate macro and market impact muted.
