Yemen Armed Forces Strike Saudi Oil Infrastructure in Retaliation for Airspace Violations
The Yemeni armed forces have launched drone strikes on Saudi Arabia's critical crude oil supply and transit facilities, targeting locations in eastern Saudi Arabia that transport oil to the port city of Yanbu.
This move comes in response to the recent violation of Yemeni airspace by Saudi drones, according to Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces. The attacks are seen as a retaliation against these violations.
In a warning earlier this month, the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that if Saudi Arabia does not lift its blockade on Yemen, it must expect severe consequences. Specifically, they called for equal treatment between Riyadh airport and Sana'a airport, as well as between the ports in Yanbu, Jizan, and other facilities versus those at Al-Hudayda port.
