$1.2M DAO Governance Attack Thwarted by Binance Security Team

Binance's security team detected a malicious governance proposal that threatened to drain approximately $1.2 million from an unnamed decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) treasury.

The exchange said its monitoring systems independently identified the proposal with less than 48 hours remaining before execution and contacted the project, coordinating precautionary deposit closures with other centralized cryptocurrency exchanges.

The project ultimately rejected the proposal before it could execute, and Binance reported that no funds were lost.
