21bitcoin Pays Interest on Euros Held in User Accounts, Offers Bitcoin Option
The Austrian-based crypto platform 21bitcoin has introduced an innovative new feature: paying interest on euros held in user accounts, and offering to pay that interest in Bitcoin without any exchange fees.
This move comes after a series of collaborations with major banks, including the VR Bank Bayern Mitte eG and Sopra Financial Technology GmbH. The company aims to establish itself as a pioneering force in European crypto finance.
According to Daniel Winklhammer, co-founder and CEO, 'the construction of wealth through Bitcoin does not begin with purchasing it, but rather with the euros set aside for this purpose.'
The interest rate is 1.21% annually, and can be paid out in Bitcoin without any fees or lock-ups. This move comes as a deliberate choice to distance itself from high-yield offers that have led to numerous crypto failures.
