$387.5 Million Bitget Hack Exposes Limitations of XRP Ledger Recovery
A hacker tied to Bitget's $387.5 million breach has moved about 102 million stolen XRP, worth around $157 million.
The funds left three of the five wallets that first held them, with roughly $75 million in XRP reportedly remaining in the original accounts.
XRP is the native asset of the ledger and cannot be frozen by Ripple or any other entity.
This structural limit is a key aspect of the XRP Ledger's design, which does not allow for issuer-controlled tokens that can be blacklisted.
