$7.8M Gnosis Wallet Exploit: Kelp DAO Freezes Funds Amid Rising Web3 Hacks

An unidentified Gnosis Safe wallet was exploited for nearly $7.8M in rsETH on September 15, leaving DeFi liquidity drained and vaults with worthless tokens.

The attack drained the equivalent of 2,153 ETH in a single transaction, which was later split and moved across multiple wallets, initially parking funds in rsETH without being swapped into ETH for laundering.

Kelp DAO, affected by the exploit, froze all deposited rsETH from the destination address flagged by their bot Yoink, preventing further losses. The bot front-ran the exploiter and took the ETH in the same block, salvaging some of the funds.
