$97M Hot Wallet Heist Hits Singapore Payment Gateway Triple-A
Payment gateway Triple-A suffered a significant loss of $9.7 million from its hot wallets across six blockchain networks, according to security alert service Peckshield.
The incident occurred on July 24 and 25, with the attacker draining funds from Ethereum, Tron, Polygon, Arbitrum, Solana, and The Open Network (TON) wallets tied to Triple-A.
Onchain data reviewed by security researchers shows that the attacker swapped stolen stablecoins and other liquid assets on decentralized exchanges before bridging the proceeds to Ethereum, where the funds landed in a single address holding roughly 5,227 ETH, worth about $9.7 million as of Saturday.
This is not an isolated incident, with Peckshield having flagged similar bridge-to-Ethereum consolidations in the past, including a suspected exploit that saw $5.25 million bridged from Hedera to Ethereum just a couple of weeks ago.
