Aave Founder Slams Morpho's Non-Custodial Vault Classification as 'Self-Serving'
Aave founder Stani Kulechov has publicly criticized Morpho's proposal to classify certain vaults as non-custodial, arguing that the categorization does not make sense and serves Morpho's interests.
Kulechov stated that a vault allowing a curator discretion over capital allocation across markets should not qualify as non-custodial solely due to a timelock. He also questioned the design of Morpho's framework, calling it user-unfriendly for liquidity providers.
The Aave founder described implicit approvals allowing changes to the allocation mandate as leaving users without proper tools to monitor such changes. He also noted that role-based systems create a blame game and relocate potential liability without addressing the core issue.
