Adobe Delves into Saudi Arabia's $77 Billion AI Playbook
Adobe has committed over $4 billion to expand its partnership with Saudi Arabia's HUMAIN, a sovereign AI company backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The deal pairs Adobe's generative AI tools with HUMAIN's Arabic-first language capabilities, targeting a market of over 400 million Arabic speakers.
As part of the arrangement, Adobe is offering free access to its Firefly and Express products to 27 million users. This strategic partnership centers on a technical swap that benefits both sides. Adobe gets to integrate HUMAIN's ALLAM model into its Creative Cloud suite, allowing tools like Photoshop and Illustrator to generate content tuned for Arabic-speaking markets.
In exchange, HUMAIN gains access to Adobe's Firefly Foundry platform for building generative AI models. Adobe is also becoming HUMAIN's first global AI data center customer, processing workloads through a sovereign cloud infrastructure designed to keep data within Saudi borders. Qualcomm's AI200 and AI250 chips are powering inference operations.
Both companies plan to establish a joint research center in Riyadh focused on advancing AI capabilities specific to the region. This move is part of HUMAIN's overall sovereign AI strategy, which carries an estimated price tag of around $77 billion under Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative.
