Alfajer Leaves Fnatic for Gentle Mates Ahead of 2027 VCT Overhaul

Turkish star Emir 'Alfajer' Beder is leaving Fnatic after over four years with the organization. During his time at Fnatic, Alfajer helped define the team's identity in VALORANT esports and accumulated more than $380,000 in prize winnings.

He was part of multiple VCT EMEA stage titles, including first-place finishes in both the 2024 and 2025 EMEA stages. In addition, Fnatic reached the grand final of VALORANT Champions 2025, finishing second on the game's biggest international stage.

Alfajer remained with Fnatic through mid-2026, participating in events including the VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 2 play-ins. However, he will join Gentle Mates for the 2027 VCT EMEA season.

Gentle Mates was founded by prominent French content creators and has been part of the VCT EMEA partnership since October 2025. The team's current roster includes starxo, bipo, marteen, GLYPH, and Minny. With the upcoming overhaul to the VCT structure in 2027, it remains to be seen how Gentle Mates will adapt.
