Altcoin Rally Gains Momentum Amid Rising Exchange Deposits
Altcoins have gained $371 billion in market capitalization since June, increasing their total by 45%. This broadening momentum is not limited to just a few large-cap tokens, but is now spreading across Binance-listed assets. In fact, only 13.6% of these assets are currently trading below their 200-day Moving Averages (MA), while 87% are trading above them.
This improved participation in the market indicates a more even distribution of price increases, rather than just being concentrated among larger-capitalized tokens. However, this could also lead to increased volatility if capital begins to flow away from smaller-cap tokens. The current rally is likely to become more volatile as a result.
The recent surge in altcoin deposits on exchanges has raised concerns about selling pressure. With approximately 70,000 altcoin deposits on the 25th of September, the largest number since October 2025, the market may be facing a tipping point that could put downward pressure on the rally. This increased trading activity could also lead to more tokens being available for sale if the rally reverses or new buying slows down.
