American Bitcoin Corp., a subsidiary of Hut 8, has reactivated its Drumheller, Alberta Bitcoin mining site after a two-year shutdown. The upgrade involves adding 11,298 new ASIC miners to the existing infrastructure.

This upgrade increases the site's computing power by approximately 3.05 exahashes per second at an improved energy efficiency of 13.5 joules per terahash.

The reactivation is part of a strategy to mine Bitcoin cost-effectively below market prices by using more efficient hardware.

With this expansion, American Bitcoin now operates about 58,999 miners producing 25.0 EH/s, contributing significantly to the global Bitcoin network's security and maintaining its competitive position in the market.
