American Bitcoin Shares Surge on Strong Revenue Beat
Shares of American Bitcoin Corp. (ABTC) surged up to 10% in pre-market trading after the company reported fourth-quarter revenue that far exceeded Wall Street's expectations. The company disclosed $185.2 million in revenue for the quarter, significantly higher than the anticipated $80 million.
Despite posting a net loss of $153.2 million, driven by a substantial non-cash Bitcoin accounting adjustment, investors appeared optimistic. The loss was attributed to a $227.1 million non-cash mark-to-market loss on Bitcoin due to fair-value accounting adjustments. Excluding these paper losses, the net profit would have been $73.9 million.
American Bitcoin currently holds over 6,000 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $400 million. The company mined around 1,654 Bitcoin from Q2 2025 through the end of the year, including 783 Bitcoin in the fourth quarter. The rest were acquired through strategic investments.
