ANDRA Unveils Tokenized ETF Platform for Institutional Market Infrastructure
ANDRA, a financial infrastructure company, has launched a platform designed to help ETF issuers bring tokenized funds on-chain while maintaining their existing infrastructure. The platform, built on the Canton Network, supports digital wallets, programmable transfers, and on-chain ownership records that remain synchronized with official transfer-agent records. This launch follows ANDRA’s recent registration as a U.S. SEC transfer agent on September 4.
The platform aims to bridge traditional ETFs with blockchain technology, offering benefits such as faster settlement and expanded digital distribution without disrupting current roles of transfer agents, authorized participants, and market makers. ANDRA has also formed an industry working group to address operational challenges related to tokenized ETFs, including settlement, compliance, and coordination among key stakeholders.
The development reflects a broader trend of institutional adoption of tokenized assets. By integrating blockchain-based ownership records with regulated transfer-agent records, ANDRA’s model could streamline operations and enhance transparency. Built on Canton, a permissionless blockchain focused on institutional applications, the platform ensures configurable privacy and interoperability with existing financial infrastructure.
