Apple's Emergency Update Fixes CoreGraphics Flaw Exposing Crypto Wallet Risks

Apple Inc. (AAPL) has released an emergency iOS update to address a CoreGraphics security vulnerability that could expose sensitive crypto wallet information.

The patch, iOS 26.7.1 and iPadOS 26.7.1, fixes CVE-2026-86950, which affects devices running iOS versions before iOS 27. Apple said the flaw involves an out-of-bounds write, allowing attackers to corrupt memory and potentially execute unauthorized code.

Crypto users face significant consequences if their private keys or recovery phrases are compromised, as blockchain transactions cannot be reversed after funds have been transferred from a compromised wallet.

The update is available for iPhone 11 models and later devices, as well as several recent iPad Pro, iPad Air, standard iPad, and iPad mini models. Eligible users can install the update through the Software Update section in device settings.
