Apple's Shares Plummet to $319 Ahead of Highly Anticipated Product Unveiling
Apple's shares dipped to around $319 on Tuesday as investors await the company's highly anticipated 'Surprise and Shine' product unveiling scheduled for September 9 at its Cupertino, California headquarters.
The event marks one of Apple's most significant product reveals in recent memory under the leadership of newly appointed CEO John Ternus, who took over on September 1. Former CEO Tim Cook has transitioned to the position of executive chairman.
Bank of America Securities maintains a Buy recommendation on Apple with a $380 target price and projects that the company will introduce three new smartphone models: the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and its debut foldable device, possibly branded as the iPhone Ultra or Fold. The foldable iPhone Ultra is projected to feature a book-style configuration with a 5.5-inch exterior OLED screen and a 7.8-inch interior panel.
KeyBanc analyst Brandon Nispel expressed concerns about pricing, stating that price escalations will either diminish unit volume or create challenges for future profitability decisions. He characterized the upcoming event as 'a likely negative catalyst' for shares, irrespective of how Apple approaches its pricing framework.
