Arbitrum Integrates USDG Stablecoin for New Revenue Opportunities
Arbitrum has integrated the Paxos-issued stablecoin USDG into its ecosystem, joining the Global Dollar Network. This move grants Arbitrum and its developers access to revenue-sharing tied to stablecoin adoption. USDG is backed one-to-one with dollar reserves and has over $3 billion in circulation. Arbitrum currently holds approximately $3.8 billion in stablecoins, with USDC making up around 60% of that total.
USDG has launched on Arbitrum with support from several DeFi platforms, including Fluid, Morpho, GMX, Maple, Li.Fi, Gauntlet, Steakhouse, LayerZero, and Kraken. Additional support from Uniswap and Fhenix is planned. The Global Dollar Network boasts over 150 partners, including major players like Robinhood, Kraken, Mastercard, and OKX. Unlike existing stablecoins on Arbitrum, USDG shares part of its reserve income with participating partners, providing a new revenue stream.
A recent governance proposal submitted to ArbitrumDAO seeks to prioritize USDG expansion. The proposal requests 100 million ARB tokens for the DRIP incentive program and additional treasury support to boost USDG liquidity. This initiative comes amid increasing competition among stablecoin groups, with other projects like OpenUSD and Qivalis also adopting shared distribution models.
Arbitrum's integration with USDG adds another revenue route directly linked to network activity. The platform already benefits from revenue-sharing through Robinhood Chain, which uses Arbitrum’s technology. Robinhood shares a portion of user activity revenue with the Arbitrum ecosystem, further enhancing its financial exposure.
