Arbitrum Lockup Runs Out, Peak Volume Already Behind Us

Instruments
ARB
Share

The Arbitrum Foundation's token lockup is running out, with exactly 92.6 million ARB tokens released every month. This means that the peak in volume is already behind us, and what remains are even monthly instalments on the order of a thirteenth of that single day.

The lockup began on March 16, 2023, and ends in the first quarter of 2027, with five remaining monthly tranches under DefiLlama's emission model. These tranches are: October 15, 2026; November 15, 2026; December 15, 2026; January 14, 2027; and February 14, 2027.

It's essential to note that there is a difference between the lockup, cliff, and vesting periods. A lockup is the period during which allocated tokens may not be moved, while a cliff is the date when a larger share first comes free in one go. Vesting describes the release of tokens in instalments after the cliff.
