Armstrong Rebukes Bank Lobby's CLARITY Act Claims, Senators Spar Over Community Banks

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has responded to concerns that the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act would harm community banks, arguing that the criticism lacks evidence and may reflect the interests of larger financial institutions.

Armstrong pushed back against claims made by Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), who said he opposes the bill in its current form due to concerns from community banks and agricultural groups in Missouri.

Hawley stated that banking and agriculture groups in his state are 'very, very worried about the effect on community banks' and are 'blowing me up over it.'
