Athena Bitcoin Hit with Major Loss in ATM Source Code Theft Case
Athena Bitcoin Inc. has failed to dismiss most of AML Software Inc.'s claims that it stole computer source code used in Bitcoin ATMs.
The court ruled on Tuesday that six out of eight total claims brought by AML survived Athena's motion to dismiss, including copyright infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, and breach of fiduciary duty.
However, the judge dismissed conversion claims regarding the AML software and against Ryan Pineo, who was accused of orchestrating the code theft regarding license payments.
