AVA Token Surges 100% as Bithumb Lists New Trading Pair
The AVA token, tied to Binance-backed travel platform Travala, has surged nearly 100% in the last 24 hours. The move was triggered by Bithumb's announcement of a new Korean won trading pair for the token, which opened at 2 p.m. Korea time on Thursday.
The AVA/KRW pair saw close to $40 million traded, with ether deposits supported. This compares to roughly $26 million on Binance's AVA/USDT market over the same period.
Leveraged futures trading likely added fuel to the rally, as Binance's AVA open interest rose 454% to $6.9 million. Short liquidations on Binance reached about $784,000 over 24 hours, adding buying pressure.
