Avalanche Sees Institutional Catalyst in South Korea's Tokenized Securities Push
The Financial Services Commission of South Korea has published new rules that will allow traditional securities, such as stocks, bonds, and funds, to be issued and circulated on blockchain infrastructure starting in February 2027.
The Korea Securities Depository, at the center of this framework, is already developing infrastructure connectivity involving the Avalanche platform.
Avalanche is not new to infrastructure geared towards institutions and tangible assets, but this collaboration with the Korea Securities Depository represents another institution-focused development for the ecosystem.
The implementation of tokenized securities in South Korea's financial market will create a large market for blockchain technology, and Avalanche's existing focus on real-world asset tokenization positions it well to benefit from this institutional catalyst.
The AVAX price is currently trading at around $11, and technical analyst Giannis Andreou sees a potential breakout above a descending resistance pattern as a key factor in determining the future price target.
Andreou predicts that if the AVAX price breaks above the trendline, it could reach the $16-20 level range, while a failure to break the trendline could result in a weaker technical outlook and a potential price drop to the $6-8 area.
