Baird Sticks by Neutral Rating on Coinbase Amid SEC Regulatory Shift

Share

Baird Financial has reaffirmed its Neutral rating on Coinbase Global Inc. (COIN), setting a price target of $130.00. This decision comes after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) introduced its 'Innovation Exemption' that allows cryptocurrency exchanges to offer tokenized equities.

The exemption enables COIN to provide clients with full shareholder rights for tokenized equities, putting its asset class offerings on par with Robinhood Markets Inc. Baird views this development as positive for the company, especially considering delays to the CLARITY Act.

Coinbase's trading volumes have rebounded, and favorable regulatory activity has contributed to Baird's assessment. The firm also noted COIN's continued development of its 'Everything Exchange' strategy.
