Balancer Holders Back Protocol Shutdown, Treasury Distribution Looms

BALancer holders have approved the protocol's orderly wind-down, with 99% of votes cast in favor of the plan. The proposed arrangement involves an eventual treasury distribution for BAL holders, with the first round expected to open in May 2027.

Under the wind-down plan, withdrawals will remain available until October 30, when the V3 Vault will pause. The shutdown process has been ongoing since the November 2025 exploit, which drained about $128 million from V2 pools.

For BAL holders, the vote means a defined wind-down process and a future treasury distribution. The token's price is currently listed at $0.1329, with a market capitalization of about $9.27 million.
