Banks Flock to Ripple's ODL Platform as XRP Gains Momentum
Ripple's On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) platform is gaining traction among banks in developing regions, thanks to its ability to provide fast and efficient liquidity solutions. The platform uses XRP as an intermediary asset, enabling almost instant currency conversions and reducing the reliance on traditional correspondent banking.
The ODL technology has been adopted by over 300 banking and payment partners worldwide, including large commercial banks such as Santander, National Bank of Egypt, Travelex Bank, SBI Remit, and Siam Commercial Bank of Thailand. These institutions can choose to utilize XRP or opt for one of RippleNet's broader range of fiat and digital assets.
Banks are eyeing XRP as a next-generation liquidity solution due to its technical features and expanding network of partners. SMQKE, a blockchain researcher, recently shared a case study highlighting the importance of effective liquidity management in financial institutions. The analysis reveals that ODL technology is now gaining traction especially among banks operating in developing regions.
