Bitcoin Soars Above $87,000 on Global Market Gains and Inflation Concerns
Bitcoin's recent price surge has pushed it above $87,000, with an intraday high of $87,397. The rally comes as global stocks and bonds report substantial gains, while lower oil prices and a planned summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have lifted market sentiment.
The cryptocurrency is up almost 2% over the past 24 hours, with Ethereum following a similar trajectory. Other cryptocurrencies such as Ripple, Solana, Dogecoin, Cardano, Stellar, Uniswap, and Litecoin also recorded notable increases.
According to Pratik Gupta, head of Business at Mudrex, a favorable risk environment has helped the rally, while lower oil prices have eased inflation concerns. Short covering is also seen as another factor contributing to the price surge.
The increase in Bitcoin's price has been driven by several factors, including inflation concerns, miner stress and capitulation, and renewed institutional activity after a brief period of uncertainty following the Federal Reserve raising interest rates and the Senate failing to pass the CLARITY Act.
