A security breach has occurred on the Base network, resulting in the theft of approximately $6 million worth of crypto assets. The attack exploited a lending mechanism in a smart contract vault that was recently whitelisted.

The attackers siphoned off 1,783,067 aBaswstETH from an unnamed vault through six separate withdrawal transactions. This amount is equivalent to about $6 million at current prices.

According to preliminary assessments by security researchers, the attack originated from a suspected attacker wallet address 0x0B5126...B034 on the Base network. The exact source of the authorization vulnerability that enabled the attack is not yet certain.
