Base Unveils Vibenet with Record-Breaking Block Confirmations

Base has launched Vibenet, an experimental developer preview network with chain ID 84538453. The network is running three features that could significantly improve the user experience on Base: fast block confirmations, validity transactions, and native account abstraction.

The most notable feature of Vibenet is its ability to deliver block preconfirmations in just 200 milliseconds. This is made possible by a system called Flashblocks, which delivers incremental state updates within each 2-second window. The current Flashblocks approach is a bridge to the more significant Denim upgrade, which is targeted for late August 2026 and will move from incremental preconfirmations to full canonical blocks.

The native account abstraction feature on Vibenet is being implemented through EIP-8130, which bakes account abstraction directly into the protocol layer. This means that capabilities like transaction batching, gas sponsorship, and session keys become native features, rather than workarounds. According to Base's figures, simple USDC transfers on Vibenet's EIP-8130 implementation cost approximately 63% less than equivalent ERC-4337 transactions.

Developers can access Vibenet now through its faucet and block explorer tools, which are live and testable. This is a clear signal that Base treats these upgrades as near-term reality rather than long-range ambition.
