Beldex Builds Full Privacy Stack for Cryptocurrency Users

Cris Blanco, chief strategy officer at Beldex, believes that privacy should be an integral part of any system's architecture from the start. In his previous work on identity verification, he realized that people want to prove specific facts about themselves without exposing everything else. He applies this logic to cryptocurrency itself.

According to Blanco, blockchains solved verification without a middleman but verifying transactions doesn't require publishing everyone's balance and personal data permanently. Beldex builds a full stack of privacy applications, including private payments (BDX), decentralized VPN (BelNet), messaging app (BChat), browser, and naming service.

The ecosystem has 1.5 million installs, with BChat accounting for roughly two-thirds. Blanco sees this as evidence that messaging is the easiest way to bring non-crypto users into privacy tools. He argues that banks and hospitals hold sensitive data without publishing it, and users should be able to disclose specific information to specific parties.

Beldex has published a MiCA white paper addressing these concerns. Blanco believes AI strengthens the case for a full privacy stack, as people already share private thoughts with AI assistants, increasing exposure. He mentions that Beldex is testing encrypted agent-to-agent communication as a next product.
