Berachain Rebrands HONEY to BUSD Amid Falling Network Activity

The Berachain Foundation has rebranded its native stablecoin from HONEY to Bera USD (BUSD) in an effort to reposition it within the dollar-pegged stablecoin market.

The change only affects the commercial name and ticker symbol, with no technical adjustments or forced migrations for current holders.

BUS is part of Berachain's three-asset model, which includes BERA as the gas token and BGT for protocol governance. The new ticker could make it easier for external traders to identify and interact with the asset.

However, this rebranding coincides with a decline in network activity on the Layer 1 network, with on-chain metrics recording historic lows in generated fees over recent weeks.
