Binance Adjusts Crypto Transfer Rules for Brazilian Users
Binance is updating its crypto deposit and withdrawal procedures for Brazilian users to comply with new foreign-exchange rules. Starting November 1, 2026, users making international transfers will need to provide additional transaction details. This includes stating the purpose of the transfer and identifying the counterparty, whether it's an individual, company, or financial institution.
The changes come after Brazil's Central Bank issued Resolution BCB No. 521/2025, which expanded virtual-asset transfers into the country's foreign-exchange framework. For transfers up to $50,000, users can select a purpose from a simplified list. Transactions above that amount require a broader list of purposes established by the Central Bank.
Deposits from abroad will remain pending until the required information is provided. Withdrawals cannot be submitted without completing the questionnaire, and in some cases, crypto may be returned to the sender if the information is not provided. Transfers between Brazilian residents or platforms will not be affected.
There is also a $100,000 limit for certain international transfers, which can be increased to $500,000 with advance notice. Binance emphasized that these new procedures are separate from Brazil's Travel Rule requirements, which will be introduced in phases during 2027 and 2028.
