Binance and Circle Partnership Strengthens USDC Growth Prospects
Circle and Binance have strengthened their partnership through a new five-year commercial agreement. The deal gives Circle, the issuer of USDC, access to Binance's user base and infrastructure, which is expected to accelerate its growth.
Binance invested $100 million in Circle shares as part of this agreement. This investment reflects the importance of the collaboration for both companies, with Binance gaining a direct interest in Circle's success and Circle benefiting from access to a broader user base.
Analysts believe that the partnership will have a significant impact on emerging markets where Tether's USDT has traditionally held strong positions. The distribution of USDC through Binance could become a key factor in accelerating its growth, but it is unlikely to quickly displace USDT due to its deep liquidity and established user habits.
According to data from Kaiko, the number of spot markets quoted in USDC on Binance has grown significantly since the start of the partnership, from 140 at the beginning to 329 currently. Monthly trading volume for USDC on Binance has also roughly doubled, exceeding $80 billion consistently.
