Binance and Robinhood Fuel Record-Breaking Growth in Tokenized Stock Holders
The number of tokenized stock holders has seen an unprecedented surge in August, according to data from Token Terminal. The platform reports that over 928K new holders were added in the month, marking a growth rate of around 120% from July's count of roughly 771K. This is not only the biggest monthly gain on record but also accounts for around 55% of the total growth in asset holders since Token Terminal began tracking this metric.
The growth can be attributed to two main factors: Binance's decision to waive maker fees across all bStocks trading pairs through August and Robinhood Crypto's aggressive listing expansion. In addition, Robinhood Chain announced 100 additional Stock Tokens went live on its platform in early August, taking the total past 190.
However, it is essential to note that this growth is not entirely representative of individual users. Since Token Terminal tracks wallet-level counts, a single person opening multiple wallets can be counted as multiple holders. As such, while these figures are impressive, they may not directly translate to the number of unique individuals holding tokenized stocks.
