Binance Bitcoin Reserves Surpass 702,900 BTC as Price Bounces to $81K
The Bitcoin reserves held by Binance have reached a new high of 702,900 BTC, according to CryptoQuant data. This marks the highest reading on its reserve chart for any point in 2026. Meanwhile, the price of Bitcoin has bounced back up to around $81K.
While this rebound may seem positive, XWIN Japan notes that it's worth being cautious. Deposits don't necessarily mean selling, but they do make more coins available for potential sale. Additionally, balance increases can also come from plain custody moves, making the number a hint rather than a definitive verdict.
Looking at historical data, Binance's reserves have been on an upward trend since April, with a significant increase of around 87,000 BTC since then. This has coincided with a price increase from around $63K to the low $80Ks. DeFiLlama's Binance wallet tracker shows a similar pattern, with the total number of Bitcoins held by Binance rising from about 547K in late April to roughly 652K now.
Net inflows have also been observed on Binance since late August, with several episodes bringing net gains measured in thousands of BTC. The latest print is smaller, at a net 439 BTC, but it points in the same direction. However, it's worth noting that red bars for net outflows still appear between the green ones.
The Exchange Whale Ratio sits near 0.43, which is under earlier peaks on the chart. This ratio tracks how much of total inflow comes from the biggest depositors, and a high number can hint at whales moving coins in. However, nothing here suggests a loud whale-led dump story.
