Binance Enforces New Crypto Regulations for Brazilian Users
Brazil's Central Bank is stepping up its regulatory efforts in the cryptocurrency space, with Binance announcing new requirements for Brazilian users. Starting November 1, users will be required to disclose the purpose and counterparty details for cross-border crypto transfers. This move highlights the increasing scrutiny from Brazil's Central Bank, with non-compliance potentially leading to deposit delays or withdrawals being blocked.
The new policy requires Brazilian users to complete a questionnaire before initiating cross-border withdrawals, effectively tightening control over transaction oversight. While transfers between Brazilian residents remain unaffected, this move emphasizes Binance's commitment to adhering to Brazil's Resolution BCB No. 521/2025, which mandates monthly reporting of such transactions to the central bank.
Transfers up to $50,000 will utilize a specified 10-purpose list, while transactions exceeding $50,000 require one of 96 classifications. Transfers may be capped at $100,000 if counterparties are unauthorized. The move is seen as a shift in regulatory expectations, with traders closely monitoring how these changes will impact Binance's user base and overall transaction volumes.
