Binance Enters FX Derivatives with 100x Leverage USDBRL Perpetual Launch
Binance is expanding its derivatives offerings by launching a perpetual futures contract tied to the U.S. dollar-Brazilian real exchange rate, dubbed USDBRLUSDT. The product will trade around the clock, including weekends and public holidays, with maximum leverage reaching 100x.
The index price will be calculated as a weighted average of rates supplied by multiple external data providers during standard trading hours, which are Sunday to Friday from 17:00 ET. However, when the underlying spot market is offline, the contract will switch to an internal orderbook-based mechanism using an exponentially weighted moving average.
This dual-mode design introduces basis risk, as the contract price can drift from the real-world exchange rate until trading resumes. Traders carrying positions through the weekend may face losses even if their directional view on the currency pair proves correct.
