Binance Funding Account Overhaul Set to Simplify Asset Management
Binance is making significant changes to its funding account system starting September 29, 2026. The exchange aims to simplify its funds structure and make asset management easier for users by gradually moving crypto holdings from Funding into Spot Accounts. This transition will run until January 2027, although the exact completion date has not been confirmed.
During this period, on-chain crypto deposits into Funding Accounts will no longer be supported. Users can manually migrate their assets using the 'One-Click Migration' feature or wait for automatic migration to occur in January 2027. The six settlement assets - USD, USDC, USDT, USD1, U, and BNB - will remain usable within the renamed 'Stocks Accounts.' These accounts will be dedicated solely to trading and settling stocks and stock options.
Several connected products will also see funding-source updates alongside the main migration. Assets received via Binance Card, gift cards, and Pay will begin depositing into Spot user holdings from September 29. Price-limit orders created on or after this date will freeze and settle exclusively in Spot. Fixed-term orders will settle to Spot or Investment Accounts, with refunds for failed orders returned to Spot.
