Binance Invests $100 Million in Circle for Expanded Digital Dollar Access
Binance has made a significant investment in Circle Internet Group as part of a renewed five-year strategic partnership. The $100 million investment will give Binance shares in Circle's Class A common stock, purchased at a price reflecting a 5% discount to Circle's market value before the transaction closed.
The collaboration aims to increase access to USDC, a dollar-denominated stablecoin issued by Circle, in emerging markets. Binance will promote USDC across its platform, while Circle will provide infrastructure services to support the holding and use of the stablecoin.
Richard Teng, co-CEO of Binance, said, 'Circle has earned its place as one of the most credible issuers in the world spanning USDC, Arc and the infrastructure reshaping how value moves across borders. Our $100 million investment and five-year commitment represent long-duration conviction.'
